SCHOFIELD BARRACKS — The Army's top uniformed officer said even though the rest time between deployments is increasing for soldiers, an increasing suicide rate remains a mystery and concern.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Veterans Affairs Department says it will look again at the rejected claims of veterans who say their Gulf War service caused a mysterious illness. It's the first step toward potentially compensating them nearly two decades after the war ended.

President Obama has asked Congress and the military to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that bans gays and lesbians from openly serving in the military.
